Former President Donald TRUMP escalated his attacks on Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, accusing the entire Fed board of conspiring against him. In a Truth Social post, Trump lambasted Powell as "one of the dumbest, and most destructive, people in Government," while claiming the Fed's policies cost the U.S. "Hundreds of Billions of Dollars."
The irony lies in Trump's own appointments—Powell and most current board members were nominated during his presidency. The board, a mix of Republicans and Democrats, remains staunchly supportive of Powell's leadership. Political affiliations appear secondary to institutional unity at the Fed.
